Tomlin Great...Hillsong too LOUD!

My wife loves Chris Tomlin and we try to catch him whenever he comes to St. Louis. The concert with Hillsong United was our opportunity to do that this year. We have to drive 90 minutes to get to Chaifetz (and 90 minutes home afterward) so it's something we don't do often. Taya, the opening performer, was very pleasant. She has an amazing voice. Chris Tomlin's show was great as usual, but shortly after Hillsong's second song, we decided to leave. It was WAY TOO LOUD for our 65+ year-old eardrums to handle. I understand the need to appeal to various tastes in the audience but bone-shaking vibrations from the bass drum were not nearly as appealing to us as they were to the younger folks in the crowd. This was probably our last time to attend.

Fantastic! I loved the Chris Tomlin concert. Great songs!

I enjoyed the Chris Tomlin Concert. He's an excellent entertainer and definitely delivered Friday night, 11/11. His performance and band were energetic and exciting. I liked that Chris reached out to the audience several times and involved those attending with his show. Hillsong United also has great songs with high energy. However, I wasn't used to the volume and rock band style throughout their performance. Their spoken message was great and although the songs also had inspiring messages, it was so loud that it was hard to enjoy. I really like rock music but their songs are not played that way on the radio. Their music on the radio is mellow, soothing, and comforting. Much softer than the rock band approach at the concert. When the drums and bass were pounding and vibrating in my chest, it was a bit much. There was no way to turn the volume down!!

Terrible

Chris Tomlin was Awesome. we loved him, a little disapointment that his show wasn't longer, Thats why we purchased the tickets, advertised CHris Tomlin not Hillsong United. The reason such a low rating was the sound from Hillsong United. It was so friggin loud, my heart was beating out of my chest. seriously, it was so sad, i couldnt enjoy it. everyone in our party complained about the same issue, and we heard people talking about it on the sidewalk after the show. Also, the seating isn't that conducive for tall people, but again, Chris Tomlin great
